While we were on vacation, Dad was out cleaning the pool one day. Mashelle, mom and I were all out there enjoying the only non rainy day we had while we were visiting. When we heard a noise and we all turned to see dad laying on the ground on his belly.
Mashelle was the first one there, followed by mom, I was sitting in a lawn chair and when I went to get up my hand slipped on the arm of the chair and I fell back and busted clean through the chair, I must have looked like a turtle trapped on his back.
Dad was fine, he had stepped on the edge of the pool and had slipped and fell, he knocked his breath out of himself, and had a few scratches on his hands and knees. When I got over there he was sitting up and saying what took you so long to get here and making jokes. I bent down and told him to put his arms around my neck as I placed my hands under his arms and picked him up to his feet.
I think back on that now and remember all the times growing up my dad was there to pick me up, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I am glad I was there for him when he needed me, and I thank him for always being there for me.
Love you Dad
